For a while, I have been wondering what the fixed gear would ride like with the On-One Midge bar.


Quite a difference.  More comfy and more usable area for differnet positions.  I think the only problem is the shortness of the drop – my hand wants to use more area than the bar offers.  While I was at it, I put on some older first-year Shimano 105 Dual Pivot calipers on:


Those brakes are many times more powerful than the side pulls that were on it before.  Almost to much power – easy to lock the rear wheel up – kind of a useless thing on a fixed gear.  The front brake is just as powerful and improves the off-road ability of the bike.
